§        Read and follow all instructions carefully.
§        Remove all packaging before lighting.
§        Place pillars on a protected, heat-resistant, dry
surface, away from anything that can catch fire, and
out of         reach of children and pets. Use holders
with at least a 1/4" rim and designed for the particular
candle style with at least ½” larger diameter than the
candle.
§        Keep wick(s) trimmed to 1/4” at all times. If
flame height gets to large or smoking occurs, extinguish
immediately, trim wick, and relight.
§        Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings,
matches, or any combustible material.
§        Keep the wick centered.
§        Avoid burning candles in drafts.
§        Never leave burning candles unattended. Keep
them within sight at all times.
§        Do not move the candle when it is burning.

Palm Wax Pillars
Our pillars are made from all natural crystalline Palm
Wax. Palm wax is a very unique type of wax.  To
ensure a long burn-time for your pillars, you must
follow these specific instructions to avoid leaking wax
or tunneling. Natural wax candles “tunnel” (they are
engineered to do this), which means that as they burn,
they use the wax closest to the wick. When you blow
out a natural wax candle, it will tunnel down to the
next level when you relight it. Make sure that you burn
your pillar just the right amount of time each time you
light it to avoid wasting wax.
§        The most important burn is the first burn. When
lighting the candle for the first time, burn until the wax
pool reaches no less than 1/4" from the candle’s edge.
This will take several hours (2-5) depending in the
pillar size and help to prevent leaking by building a
strong shell around the candle's perimeter.  Then
immediately extinguish the flame and allow candle to
harden before relighting. If you do not allow the candle
to burn to the edge as described above for the first
burn, you will have created a "tunnel" and chances are
your candle will continue to burn in this pattern.
§        Each time you light the candle, always make
sure the wick is pointed straight up to ensure even
burning on all sides.  Even while it is burning, you can
straighten it by taking a metal object (a screw driver or
long nail) and just straighten it.  Check it every hour.
§        For best results, burn the candle at a minimum
for one hour per inch diameter at a time (ex. for a 3"
diameter pillar, burn for a max of 3 hours).
§        Each time you light the candle, make sure it
burns long enough for the wax pool to be filled to the
edge you created during the first burn. Otherwise, you
will create a tunnel that will eventually extinguish your
wick. Never extinguish a pillar candle before the
melted pool of wax reaches close to the outside of the
candle all the way around. As soon as the melted wax
pool is close to the edge (you may start to see slightly
transparent spots or darkening) - blow it out and let it
cool immediately!
§        Keep the burning candle away from drafts.
This causes uneven burning and eventually will cause
your shell to leak or leave excessive unused wax
around the sides.
§        Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remains.
(TIP: break this wax up in 1" pieces to melt in a tart
burner or simmer vase for additional fragrance).
§        Never over burn these candles as they may
result in a blow out through the wall of the candle and
wax will leak out. Never burn for more than 3-6 hours
depending on the size of the pillar. If your candle does
leak, simply blow it out, let it harden and relight.
NOTE: If your candle leaks and spills over your candle
plate, you can remove the wax one of two ways:
- Scrape it off after it hardens assuming the scraping
won’t damage the surface.
- Use a blow dryer to melt the wax and wipe it up.
§        If you burn your candle too long, it may
develop holes in the side. Don't panic if this happens, it
can always be repaired, as outlined below...but it's
always better not to let them occur.
Safety & Use Instructions
Repairing a Natural Wax Spill:
§        Simply let the spilled wax cool and pick it up.
You can re-melt the remnants into the candle, or use
them in a variety of fragrant and economical ways!
§        Tape up the hole on the side of the pillar candle
where the spill occurred with clean release tape or
masking tape.
§        Light the candle and let enough wax melt to fill
the holes of the candle, and extinguish the flame. (Tip
the candle on its side, so that the melted wax fills the
hole(s), and allow to cool.) Once the candle cools,
remove the tape, and your candle looks as good as
new, and is ready to be burned again.  Be sure to trim
the wick before re-lighting!

Scented Wax Tarts
§        Wax tarts (also called melts) have no wick in
them and are used for melting in appropriate tart
burners; also called tart warmers, simmer pots or
diffusers.  Tarts are melted via tea lights.  As the flame
of the tea light heats the upper tray where the tart is,
the tart melts and releases fragrance through its wax
pool.  Electric burners are available that melt the tart
through the heat of a light bulb so no flame is required.
§        Make sure your tart burner is specifically made
for tarts - some burners are only made for oil with
smaller trays and melted tarts may overflow
§        Our tarts are made from paraffin.  Just let them
harden and you can pry them from your burner in one
piece. Store them in a baggie for future use or throw
them out when the fragrance is gone.  If you
experience difficulty removing your tart, you may
remove the wax while it is melted - carefully pour into
a heat-safe container and wipe burner clean so any
remaining fragrance will not contaminate future uses.

Votive Candles
§        For maximum use, burn only in an appropriate
holder fitted for size of votive. Do not burn
freestanding as all votives liquefy.
